Foods that keep you healthy as you age.

As we get older, we tend to care more about our diets and what we consume into your bodies. Especially those who are diets that include no gluten, dairy or diabetics. The first step towards good health as a senior is to fuel your body with good food. Here is a short list of food that keeps our bodies healthy as we age.

  • Blueberries are packed with antioxidants like vitamin C and Vitamin E to keep our cells healthy. All types of berries or fruit are good for our bodies.

  • Fiber Foods play a major role in our digestive system. Foods such as legumes, vegetables and whole grains are all a good source of fiber. These foods can help ease constipation as well as lower cholesterol and blood pressure.

  • Yogurt is good for our bones as we age. It provides lots of calcium to make our bones stay strong.

  • Nuts are full of omega 3s, fiber and protein.

  • Water Although water is not considered a food, sometimes it can be underappreciated. Our bodies are mainly made up of water but without staying hydrated can become dehydration which can lead to dizzy spells or even falls.
