One of the best ways to stay active is by walking. This form of exercise can be done both indoors as well as outside.
When I moved in at MLP, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had an exterior walking path around the entire building for us to enjoy. In addition, there is over 5,600 square feet of halls to walk indoors when the weather isn’t favourable. I take advantage of this every day. Exercise is very important. It’s important for me to keep active. I walk every morning before breakfast and with the weather the way it is now; I try to do at least 4-5 laps in the hall-ways.
When walking remember to focus on posture, keeping your back straight, and shoulders rolled back. Always start with short distances and work your way up. Before engaging in a vigorous walk remember to stretch your calves, hamstrings, and do ankle rolls.
