MLP Residents’ Families

It has been three weeks since I last communicated with you regarding the dramatic impact that COVID- 19 has had on us all. Sadly, since that time, we have observed how this insidious virus impacts individuals, families and communities to the very core of our daily lives. As we all battle this pandemic, there has been a resurgence in the respect for all front-line healthcare workers and community caregivers, who triumph in their everyday acts of courage by extending the much-needed health care services and treatments. To each and every one of these workers and front-line staff, on behalf of MLP Residence and myself, I say THANK YOU!

Today I want to let you all know how MLP Residence has triumphed over this virus so far by keeping all your loved ones safe and healthy. MLP remains focused and unwavering in supporting our dear residents and our amazing team members. We are committed, as always, to ensuring that our residents experience the same level of care and services, that they have been used to. We have had to, of course, modify some of our operational protocols and have brought changes to our visitation policy – all in an effort to keep everyone at MLP safe and healthy.

For the many family members and loved ones who visited MLP regularly, this frequent visitation had become a way of life. Also, for us, we remained connected, got inspired and evolved our friendships with the extended MLP families. While it is the right thing to do, the ban on visitation has been hard for many. I know, that once this situation is over, you all shall be back to share the laughs and memories created, over this period, with your precious ones at MLP.

As the days unfold, we will continue to monitor and evolve our operational guidelines and policies as may be necessary, with the support of the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility, Ontario Public Health, RHRA and ORCA. As these advisories change, we are committed to adjusting our responses and operations accordingly, while assuring every resident and their families that MLP shall always deliver excelling care and services to our residents – which we have been honoured to provide over the past 20 years.

Thank you for being part of our Community. We consider you a part of the extended MLP Family. We will meet again, soon. Until such time, on behalf of my Team and I, stay well and be safe!
