CEO’s Message

The health and well-being of our residents and team members continues to be our number one priority. At MLP Residence we recognize that we have a special responsibility as we navigate through unchartered waters during the COVID-19 pandemic. As providers of luxurious senior’s accommodation options with industry-leading dietary, care, social, wellness and housekeeping services, we have over the past several weeks adjusted our day-to-day operations to ensure that our residents continue to enjoy the comforts of their “Home” in a protected yet functional manner. It is in moments like these that our purpose and values stand out – especially for the people whom we serve.

I would like to thank our front-line team members who have been working tirelessly to provide uninterrupted continuum of care to our residents during these challenging times. Furthermore, I also want to take this opportunity to thank all the families and individuals who have reached out to us during the past weeks, to offer their support. We have received numerous emails, cards, and calls from resident’s family members, friends, well-wishers and professional colleagues appreciating the efforts extended by our Team. Thank you, to each and every one of you, for brightening up our lives and providing us with the renewed energy to work through this difficult time.

At MLP Residence we are proud to have a “family” culture. During challenging moments such as this, it is the time to live family values. Our team and support workers are not alone as we provide all available resources to them for their physical, emotional and mental well-being. The dedication and focus by our team have made us even stronger and more united as we proudly live and breathe the MLP tenets. COVID-19 is global in nature, however, the situation is different in each province and changing fast. MLP Residence is fortunate to be working with health-care partners and governmental agencies who continue to extend support protocols and guidelines so that we can focus on doing what we do best – delivering outstanding services to the seniors in our Community. As most of you are aware, all residents and team members were tested for COVID-19 on May 1st 2020. I am pleased to state that there were no positive cases of the virus detected within the MLP Community.

Angela, MLP’s General Manager, continues her weekly communications with all resident’s family members; providing them with updates to both latest legislative changes as well as to MLP’s operational protocols. I am especially pleased to learn that many families have taken upon themselves to also further their interaction with their loved ones; some by taking advantage of the MLP’s Video Call Services, others by dropping of packages containing special treats, and yet others by stopping by the property to wave to their loved ones from outside.

At times like these, the worry list can be long for all of us, there are no exceptions. But I am convinced that we will get through this – if we stay strong, stay united and stay focused. Thank you so much for your support during these trying times. Stay well and stay safe.
