June is Seniors Month — a special time to recognize, celebrate, and appreciate the older adults who have helped shape our families, neighbourhoods, and communities. At MLP, we believe seniors deserve not only recognition, but opportunities to connect, laugh, share stories, and continue being an active part of community life.
That’s why we are so excited to host our Seniors Celebration Fair on June 24th in Prince Edward County.
Seniors are the foundation of our communities. They are parents, grandparents, mentors, volunteers, caregivers, and friends. Their experiences, wisdom, and resilience have guided generations through times of change and growth. Taking the time to celebrate seniors is about more than simply hosting an event — it is about showing gratitude and creating spaces where seniors feel valued, included, and connected.
As people age, social connection becomes increasingly important. Community events help reduce isolation, encourage friendships, and support emotional well-being. A simple afternoon spent listening to music, enjoying conversation, participating in games, or sharing a meal can have a meaningful impact. These moments remind seniors that they remain an essential and vibrant part of the community.
Celebrating seniors also brings generations together. Events that welcome families, local businesses, entertainers, and community organizations create opportunities for people of all ages to connect and learn from one another. Whether it’s meeting alpacas, dancing to live music from The Reasons, browsing local vendors, or enjoying a free BBQ, these shared experiences help strengthen the bonds that make Prince Edward County such a special place to live.
At MLP, we believe every senior deserves to feel appreciated and celebrated. Seniors Month is a reminder to pause and recognize the contributions older adults continue to make every single day. Their stories, kindness, and life experiences enrich our community in countless ways.
We invite everyone to join us on June 24th from 12:30– 3:30 PM at 13468 Loyalist Parkway in Picton for an afternoon of fun, laughter, entertainment, and community spirit. Together, we can celebrate the seniors who have given so much and continue to inspire us all.
Because when we celebrate seniors, we celebrate the heart of our community.
